Vermont's Use Value Appraisal Program - aka Current Use Program -provides landowners with tax relief for having their land under active agriculture or forest management. According to the Vermont Department of Taxes, as of September 2016, there were more than 18,400 parcels of land enrolled totaling more than 2.4 million acres, about one-third of Vermont’s total land. Greenleaf Forestry can help with determining eligibility, enrollment, transfers, discontinuance, and withdrawals. Both our management plans and maps are prepared to program standards. New applications are due September 1st of each year.
